
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1She is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her performance as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). In 2014, Critics' Choice Television awarded her the best Supporting Actress Award in Drama Series. In 2019, she was a part of the cast in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her acting career in theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 in the role of Mary In The Life. In addition, she has been seen off-Broadway on Stephen Sondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994), and the musical of Randy Newman Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her TV debut as a regular on The NBC daytime soap show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In 1997 and 1998 she guest starred in two roles in the show Law & Order. The film's debut came the year 1999 when she starred as part in The crime-drama Black and White. In the following years, she starred in other independent films. She began guest-starring on a range of dramas on TV and comedies in the 2000s. These were among them The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young has appeared in more than thirty television shows between the years 2000 to 2011.
