Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to a family in South London. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss while her mother was English. She grew up in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned an acting BA. As a student at the academy was when she performed in various stage productions including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started in the series Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe landed her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. The film's success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. The ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was the main character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedy released in the year 2008. Her credits in the theatre include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport in ABC's drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it came to an end. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the drama series on ABC Revenge for two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she would quit the show after completing an appearance in the first episode of season three. On the show Salem the actress played Tituba in 2014 through the year 2016. Madekwe wed her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg in June 2012. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. The four brothers of Ashley, each of them extremely active, took part in hockey during the winter and baseball during the summer months, which means she basically grew up in parks and arenas. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at age two and a half she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. This was the beginning of Ashley's interest in dance. After graduating from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop. She also won the top awards for soloists in every important dance competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
